If you creating beats or simply admire the sheer power of a drum solo, walk into the club to enroll for our Drum classes. Our Drum lessons concentrate on building up power, precision and groove with impeccable technique.

Module 1

  1. Grip – Hybrid/German
  2. Foot technique
  3. Rudiments – Single/ Double/ Paradiddles
  4. Quarter & 8th note beats – Total 5 examples played at slow/med/fast tempo
  5. Basic fills (no 16th notes)
  6. Notations (Basic)

Exam – Billie Jean, Seven Nation Army, It’s my life, Pani da

Module 2

  1. 8th note fills
  2. 16th note beats (8th note beats with 16th notes on hihat)
  3. Basic Independence (Left foot independence)
  4. Accents (Basic 8th note accents)
  5. Basic Dynamics
  6. Rudiments – 5, 7, 9 stroke roll

Exam – Smoke on the water, Suraj dooba hai Yaaron, Jolene

Module 3

  1. Triplets – 8th and 16th note beats and fills (Shuffle)
  2. 16th note fills
  3. Accents – beats/fills

Exam – Roadhouse Blues, Ajeeb Dastan, 12/8 blues shuffle

Module 4

  1. Re-applying all 8th and 16th note kick patterns with dotted 8th/16th
  2. Limb independence – left foot (qtr., 8th , 16th )
  3. Double strokes on kick drums
  4. Basic Sight reading
  5. Dynamics – Ghost notes

Exam – Last Resort

Module 5

  1. Flams, Ruffs
  2. Understanding 5/4, 7/8, 6/8 time signatures and attached rudiments
  3. Understanding compound time
  4. Advanced 32nd note applications (beats/ fills)
  5. Broken Hihat – Ride Patterns
  6. Sight-reading

Module 6

  1. Understanding different genres (Basic grooves and fills)
  • Jazz
  • Latino (Samba, Bossa Nova etc.)
  • Afro-Cuban
  1. Sight-reading

(Optional – Understanding additional percussive instruments like Djembe, Congo etc.)

  1. Understanding different genres (Advanced)
  2. Indian Traditional (Fusion)
